Today, with the advancement of technology, human life has undergone significant changes. One of the most important changes is in the field of communications and information technology, which has profoundly affected daily human life. This technology has had deep impacts in various areas such as education, healthcare, communications, and social relationships. Today, people no longer need long-distance travel to see friends or acquaintances; instead, they can connect through social networks. Even many formal and informal educations are now conducted online or offline on various platforms, moving away from their traditional and classic forms. Another area recently undergoing changes and evolving from its traditional form is the healthcare sector, known as remote medicine.

Remote medicine encompasses a collection of systems and services that use technologies such as video visits, email, smartphones, wireless tools, and other forms of remote communication technologies together to allow remote patients to access and be examined and visited by their desired doctors. In this system, patients and doctors are located in different geographical locations, and the use of information and communication technologies bridges the gap between them. In general, remote medicine provides real clinical services to remote patients using information and communication technologies.

Introduction to System

The goal of this system is to use the internet platform for remote patient visits. This system provides all necessary platforms for conducting remote visits. In this system, all types of hospitals, clinics, and healthcare centers can register. Then, doctors and medical staff will register in the system. In the next step, each doctor specifies the times they can be active in the system and conduct visits. Patients then register in the system. Patients can upload all their medical histories into the system. In the patient panel, all doctors are visible, and patients can review the histories of doctors.


Two types of visits are embedded in the system: physical and online visits. A physical visit means that the patient selects one according to the available times through this system, and the visit will continue in person. Online visits are scheduled based on the doctor's available times in the system, and the patient schedules the appointment in advance. At the scheduled time, the visit takes place online over the internet. In both types of visits, a complete medical record of the patient is formed and is accessible to the patient and doctor at any time.


One of the important features of the system is the ability to enter patient vital signs into the system. Therefore, using available medical equipment, the patient can enter vital signs such as blood pressure, blood oxygen, blood sugar, etc., into the system before the visit. Thus, during the video visit, the doctor can view all the measurements taken. Also, various medical robots can perform tests during the video visit. Special medical cameras controlled by the doctor are available at the patient's end.


A very important feature of the system is the possibility of online video visits between doctor, nurse, and patient. The link for the video visit is activated at the specified time, and the online visit is facilitated. The video visit is reviewed by the doctor simultaneously with all medical records and reasons for the illness, and the doctor expresses their specialized opinion in the form of a report.


The comprehensive report completed by the doctor includes the reasons for the patient's visit, the patient's previous histories, diagnosis, and prescriptions, which the patient can view and report in their panel.


The system also includes a financial subsystem where various visits and doctors are costed, and based on this costing, the cost of each visit is determined, and each patient must make the necessary payment according to their visit request.
